Please note: We are offering classes on Mondays (green section, below) and Tuesdays (purple section, below. Each day, you have the choice of one of two classes, each of which starts at 3:30pm. If you want to enroll in both classes, you must choose one from each day. For example, you could choose the Robotics class on Mondays and the Programming class on Tuesdays; or, you could choose the Programming class on Mondays and the Robotics class on Tuesdays; BUT, you could not choose the Robotics AND Programming classes on Mondays (or Tuesdays), because they are offered at the same time.

Explore the fascinating world of robotics, related careers, and learn the relevance of robotics in today’s world. Students will build and program a variety of robotic machines such as a forklift, Segway, 3-speed transmission, lawn mower, Modular Text Vehicle (MTV), robotic arm and trailer pull.
$50.00
Note: The cost of the class is $250, but St. Francis is offering each registered middle school student a $200 scholarship to participate.

(10 sessions, each 1½ hours long.)

Students will learn to program with the Kodu programming language (which was developed by Microsoft). They will also learn the CoffeeScript programming language using the Pencil Code collaborative programming environment. Students will learn programming terminology and practice problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
